Update

Sorry I haven't posted in a few weeks, I honestly just have not felt like it!

Update: I have completed 26 days of the 30 day shred, only 4 more to go and I am SO GLAD.  I am never looking forward to the workouts, but I just get them over with. I actually have gained about 4-5 pounds, but I'm glad I have been taking pictures because I am losing inches. I will not be posting the pics because I am almost naked and ain't no body wanna see that! HA! But I have been toning up and gaining muscle. Which is good.

I have been officially rehired at my middle school for next year, so those kids will be forced to draw, color, and paint yet another year! Muahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

J and I have been doing some rearranging in our tiny apartment and I have been dedicated to cleaning and re-cleaning after we mess it up again, so it's been kind of a mess over here. I'm also waiting until my next paycheck to pay bills. So fun. I know.

There really isn't much to comment on other than I've just been completely exhausted every day and even though not too too much has been going on, my days have been completely full. But I will get back in the groove soon! Hope you all have been wonderful :)

Poppin' Tags

1.) lovely little jewelry box
2.) sweet lion foot detail
3.) velvet lining with some of my jewelry
4.) gap blue jean jacket and steve madden booties
5.) milk decanters

We for sure had some good luck today at our local thrift shop. I have been hunting for a blue jean jacket for a while now, but I am very picky about how they fit on me. Most of them fit like a box, and I was after more of a fitted look....like a blazer. I don't want my clothes to be unflattering!! Heck naw! But this jacket was perfect for me, as soon as I put it on, J's eyes got big and he told me to go look in the mirror. Fantastico!

Now if you've ever browsed the shoe section at goodwill, sometimes it's pretty entertaining and there is a good bit of giggles to be had, but when I saw these booties and they were my size and they were steve madden, I think I almost had a heart attack! I already can't wait til fall weather to bust these babies out.

This jewelry box is just a sweet little bit of fun. And these lovely milk jars are going to be a nice touch as part of the decorations in our wedding....since we are going for that whole vintage-y, rustic charm of it all.

Just goes to show that to find treasure, you've got to go look! Get out there!

Lazy Sunday

1.) J on the computer
2.) enjoying some coffee, on the laptop and watching HGTV (love!)
3.) cooper and lolah enjoying the open window

We are relaxing this lovely Sunday morning. I did my torture...I mean, workout, right when I woke up so I could get it over with. I grunted and groaned the whole time and I am happy I did it. But now we relax!

Today

Today I feel like I have been very productive.

J left early this morning for a soccer tournament in Jackson, and he is on his way home now. I have had the whole day to myself, but I miss him and can't wait until he returns (which should be shorty!).

I started level 2 of the 30 day shred this morning and it was agonizing! It was very difficult, I definitely hope I yield results from all this pain...day 11 is complete. 19 to go. I did some dishes, laundry, and went to the store for grocery shopping. Had to pick up a frappacino from Starbucks on the way home. Had too.

I already made all my lunches for this next week at work, I was a fool in the kitchen getting everything ready! I made eggs, pasta salad, a broccoli salad....I was just all over it. I also found new recipes that I can;t wait to try out soon! Today was such a nice day outside I had the windows open and the pups stared out and barked and children passing by. When J gets home I will make another Mexican pizza for him. :)

I hope everyone has been enjoying their Saturday!

Countdown...

http://workitmom.com/bloggers/fulltimeallthetime/files/2008/06/pool.JPG
Being a teacher, summertime just has to be my favorite period. (Although I am an absolute NUT for Christmas!) As my countdown to summer continues, (31 and a half days, to be exact) I finish up day 7 of my 30 day shred. So far it's hard to tell any changes other than the workout actually is becoming a tad easier with every passing day. I suppose progress is progress. But now, I am just looking forward to a summer off of work. Each week I just get myself through work so I can come home, do my workout, and then relax while drinking my water until J gets home and I make dinner and we spend our evening together. In a few weeks our yearly standardize testing takes place and I am on auto pilot from here on out. I have a lot of plans for this summer: traveling, wedding planning, tanning.....you know, all that fun stuff you can't really do while you are working and your brain is basically jello when you get home. The students I teach are getting the summer bug now the weather is warming up and they are starting to misbehave and they are ready to get out as well, so we are all just doing what we can til the end of May is upon us! I hope y'all have something to look forward to this summer!
Louisville head coach Rick Pitino holds up the NCAA trophy.
By the way, we won!! Read all about it here! My hometown brought home the National title and I am a very proud Louisville girl at heart! (My Alma Mater, the University of Memphis, made it to the sweet sixteen, but not to the elite eight...there is always next year!) I am glad that one of my teams could bring it home! It was definitely a GREAT game, I hope everyone enjoyed it, it was nail biting to the end and all in good fun. :)

Mexican Style Pizza

I made this for J and me last night for dinner, and it was a big hit! There were NO leftovers! I got the original recipe from here but I modified it to fit my baking...um...level. Ha! This is what I used:
  • Store bought pizza dough (already in the pizza form)
  • Chipotle BBQ
  • Canned corn
  • Reduced sodium black beans
  • Rotisserie chicken (from Kroger)
  • Mexican style shredded cheese
I spread the BBQ on the crust, replacing the pizza sauce. Then I put little chunks of the chicken all over the pizza. I then spooned some of the corn, then the rinsed black beans. I popped it in the oven for 10 minutes on 450. After that, I sprinkled some cheese on top, popped it back in for about 3 minutes, let it cool and serve! I had 2 pieces and J polished off the rest, he loved it! He admitted he was skeptical when I started preparing it and wasn't sure if he would like it at all...but he's already asking when I will make it again! It went perfect with some Dos Equis Amber ;)

I hope your basketball team is winning in the final four this evening!

A Few Things

If you are lacking any motivation at times, just like I am, this list is very helpful!

Pinterest, oh how I love thee! This has been absolutely amazing, I make these on Sunday and I eat them all week with either breakfast or in a lunch! So yummy! And it really works!

That's the plan!
Today I finished day 2 of Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. You can purchase it here if you would like to take the journey with me! I really am feeling it, but I am so motivated. It was tough, but I didn't once feel like I couldn't do it, so I pushed myself. I want those results!! Yesterday I took my "before" picture so I have something to compare too, and took my measurements and weight.....maybe I will share those at a later date! So I am going to work!!! For my post workout snack, I had strawberries and vanilla low fat yogurt. Strawberries are a negative calorie fruit (I only had 3, cut up) and the yogurt (yoplait) was 90 calories. And this morning I had my egg! I cooked mine with a spinach leaf in it with some salt and pepper, and warmed it up in the microwave with a slice of turkey (lunch meat) for about 15-20 seconds in the mircowave. Medium egg is 60 calories, turkey was 40, 100 calories breakfast! WHOOP!

Tonight we are having tilapia fish tacos and roasted veggies. So yum! Right now I'm watching my neighbor and good friend's dog until she gets home a bit later tonight, so I've got 3 doggies here with me until J gets home from soccer. And I'll be drinking my water! Have a great night dolls :)

Day after birthday....

Yesterday I celebrated my 28th birthday! I had to work and stay after for a meeting so when I came home I just took a shower. My fiance brought home subway (I LOVE subway!) when he was on his way home from coaching middle school soccer and we ate and had some drinks. Ok a lot of drinks. Plenty. Needless to say I enjoyed myself. :)

Last week was my school's spring break and I also enjoyed myself with the eating out and drinks and just plain junk. Since January 1st and had been doing my best with eating healthier and trying to stick with a fitness routine. I dropped 8 pounds by changing my eating and drinking habits while adding a workout routine. But I've been stuck at that 8 pound loss since February. And thaaaaat's discouraging. I have definitely allowed myself to slack recently. So since I celebrated through spring break and my birthday, I am getting back on that wagon (more like dragging myself on the wagon!). I borrowed Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred from a friend and started today and MAN IT'S HARD! I am going to go my best to get through it! I did it right when I got home and I am already feeling like jello! (And that was only an hour ago!) So I hope I can keep up with it. WHEW! Tomorrow I will be sore for sure!

OH and I got my shoes in yesterday :) They ARE fab!
