May old acquaintance be forgot...

Happy last day of 2013!

"May old acquaintance be forgot" seems to be the theme for this year. At least that's what my husband says. He says that because after getting married this year and going through all those festivities, you see people's true colors and where their true loyalties lie. Since we got married out of town, we didn't expect a whole lot of out of towners to show up...we knew that. BUT we dislike people flaking out at the last moment.....which seems to happen all the week before the wedding. If you can't go, be like some of my REAL friends and say you wish you could come, and don't pretend you are coming the whole time and then just not show up. Any way, you get the point. Only our family was there. That's it. The only ones of our friends that were there (not family) were 2 of my bridesmaids, Kelly and Becky, and Kelly's husband, Jonathan. That is it. People even flaked on my bachelorette party! Don't get me wrong, I still had a blast and our wedding was perfect, wouldn't change anything about it. Just letting you know why old acquaintances are being forgot... I hope that clears that up.

ANY WHO. thanks for letting me vent about that, I will now leave that here, in 2013. 2014 will be an amazing year, I just know it. For one thing, we will have our first year married. On my mom's side of the family we are having a big family reunion in June. We are gathering at a giant beach house on Holden Beach in NC. I can't wait! In 2011, we all went on a Royal Caribbean cruise! That was my first cruise, and it was incredible! Justin and I were just dating then, so he did not come along, BUT since we are married now, he is totally going to be with us at the beach! I'm so excited!!! Since that is in roughly 5-6 months, I need to get back into shape. Justin decided he would like to get in shape as well.

Again, anyway, I thought I'd make a list of "resolutions" for this year. I haven't always been the best at keeping them, but I give a good ole fashion effort. So here is my list:

  1. work out at least 6 days a week
  2. eat better foods
  3. cut out drinking (for the beginning of the year, to jump start weight loss)
  4. manage money better--save more
  5. take care of our apartment better--keep it tidy and organized
  6. have quality time with my husband and our dogs
  7. make our marriage wonderful!!!
I guess that's about it! I think this is a pretty do-able list. I'll keep ya posted!
Happy last day of 2013...I'll be living it up downtown in my sequence tonight! CHEERS!

We have colds.

Sniffles, sore throat, cough, sneezeles, heavy head....it's not fun. but we trudge onward! ....mostly because we have no choice. Am I right? I'm right.

Justin thoughtfully made breakfast for us this morning (he had to work at 11...split shift today....bleck! but money!). He had brought french fries home from work the other night so he panned them up with some ham and chicken and made breakfast potatoes! YAY!!! And he made them sweetly while I had the look of death, bundled on the couch, watching HGTV. What a sweetie. I love him.

After he went off to work, I decided I was going to make us some chicken noodle soup. Not the can, the real thing! Well, as real as it gets for me. I had some chicken broth (don't ask me why) and I cut up leftover chicken, celery, carrots, brussels sprouts, and broccoli and put it in the crock pot. Italian seasoning, pepper, and salt. On low. I'll be checking on it constantly. OH and noodles :) check it out.

Yesterday I got a good deal of cleaning done. We took out a lot of trash. A LOT of trash. It just accumulates. But I think a lot of it had to do with Christmas trash and I've been sorting and cleaning out things. What lit a fire under my ass is that my brother-in-law and his wife were going to be stopping by that afternoon to drop off Christmas presents, and this place was wrecked. I could not let them see...mostly because they've never been here!! It turned out that only Tyler stopped by, Carly was out shopping with her family. We had a nice visit, and Tyler complemented our apartment. That makes me feel good, especially when we've put so much time, thought, and effort into making this tiny place our home.

My goal is to redo the whole place before I go back to work next week. So I've got this whole week to do it. Not counting new years, because you know I won't get shit done that day. Baha.

I'm not taking our Christmas stuff down until next weekend...I hate to see it come down.
I hope this chicken soup helps and we are over these cold soon!!! I hope you are all healthy :P

Hello, there

I know I have been MIA for a while...but here I am again. I say, whatev.

I've been thinking a lot lately about how I need to buckle down and lose a good deal of weight...again.I might as well be f-in Oprha with all the yo-yoing that I do with my weight. It truly is exhausting. Well, I vow I will get this shit under control once and for all. Again. But I'll keep it off this time.

I weighed myself this morning at 188.8....I was 205 in January 2011 and by October that year I made it to 142....and here I am, nearing my start weight....and I ask myself: what the fuck!? what the actual fuck. SIGH. really big sigh. I looked great at my wedding, about 165 pounds a month ago...but then I've been eating TERRIBLY and drinking A LOT. I like to call it celebrating, but the end result is the same. I am fat. Fat but not happy. I say this while Cinderella is on TV (yes the Disney one...and the Little Mermaid is next) and I'm sipping on pink champagne. We have tickets to a big party downtown for New Years and a hotel room. So I figure live it up until then. SO on the first of this new year, it begins.

Stay tuned...

So...I got married!!!

We were married November 23rd, 2013 at Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center in Louisville, Kentucky. (I'm from Louisville!) It was beautiful. We got there in the morning and set up, us girls started getting ready and we were taking pictures by 1:00. It was freezing outside, but it makes for excellent pictures--because if it were warm, I'd be a sweaty, red-faced mess! The wedding started at 3:00 and the ceremony was finished by 3:30. My uncle is a Chaplin in the Army, so he married us. My Cousin made the cake and all the food. My in-law made the wine favors. (Actually made it...I designed the labels). I made the banners, the welcome sign, the painted bottle center pieces, the hand written signs....down to the invites....which I used to create our wedding cake topper.

It was a very DIY wedding....the cost was $8,000 total. Our first dance was to the Turtles, "So Happy Together" and we danced the night away after that. We honeymooned in a cabin right on the Ohio river, about 10 miles from downtown Louisville (my uncle owns the cabin, so our stay was free!). We went downtown daily and partied nightly. It was perfect.
