Busy, busy!

It's only tuesday, but i feel like this has been one long week already! maybe it was because this weekend was so relaxing...or maybe just because i've been so damn busy!

i always feel a bit crazy on moday...i mean come on, it's monday! so i'm trying to turn in lesson plans, and make sure i've got copied what i need copied, search for examples, etc. tuesday this year my morning duty is outside doing car riders. whaaaaaaaaaaaat! it kinda sucks, but isn't that bad. i say that now because the last two tuesdays the weather has been nice...i suppose i'll let you know when theirs a big rain storm or something terrible that will just ruin my day. i'll be whistling a different turn then i'm sure.

but tonight was open house. it was only from 6 til 7:15, so i was able to come home and workout, rinse off, touch up and change. it went by really quick. i got there early at 5:30 and parents were already coming in starting to walk around! no one normally comes to see the art teacher, but i tell you, it was like they were dogs and i was an open can of puppy chow. they were everywhere! i was swarmed. so i feel like i haven't sat down for more than 30 minutes since this morning. whew.

just an update :)

Our Back to School Shopping!

 j. jill pants
 ralph lauren jacket
 cavlin klein jacket
some neat graphic tee's for justin at walmart! ($3 each!)
banana republic corduroys

we sure had a great day at goodwill! we had to drive out to the next county over this morning to pick up our two dog's flea and tick medication, so on the way home we decided to stop in at the goodwill up the street. i also found a shirt from target (striped and hooded number) and a little black wrap dress from express. the jeans i'm wearing with the jackets are new too, i got those at maurice's after we had lunch. we picked up a few books for a few projects we've been wanting to do too.

this has been a busy week for me. this was my first completely full week back with the kids everyday. even though the schedule has been changing and fluctuating each day, i've been making it work. i had a special order from a co-worker that i needed to fill this week, for her uncle's 75th birthday. he;s a farmer, so they wanted a ford tractor pulling behind it in a trailer the number "75", large enough for people to sign inside of it. she provided the canvas so all i had to do was make it so. i decided to crank it out while i watched reruns up to a new episode of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" (don't judge). here it is:

i used oil pastels and sealed it with hairspray (yes, you can do that!) and used sharpie to fill in the numbers so people could easily write on it without any issues. i hope they like it! (got paid for it!)

i hope you all are enjoying your weekend so far, i will be spending time at home with the dogs tonight while justin works, so today was definitely a fun day spent with my love.

Sunday

it was raining when i finally opened my eyes this morning, and to see lolah snuggling up to me. this was a sweet image i got of justin and the dogs while i was up brushing my teeth and opening the window curtain. it's been that kind of day.

the only productive thing i've done is a little bit of laundry, dishes, and packed my lunches for the week. i guess that is pretty productive...i still have to finish my lesson plans for the week. i have not missed having chunks of my weekend dedicated to planning...i already miss the freedom of summer. le sigh.

but again, i am looking forward to getting married. and i am so glad a lot of the fall programming is starting back on tv...i dearly love my shows, they get me through. i also have mentioned that autumn is my favorite time of year, well, it is. each passing day i know it's coming, and i can't wait for everything to turn gold!

i hope everyone has had a relaxing weekend!

Our Saturday

This morning we decided to get up at a decent hour (about 8:30) and get what needed done. We fed the dogs and let them out, got ready, made our grocery list and headed out. First stop was the bank, then we decided to hit up goodwill. We always love a good shopping trip to goodwill. It's like a miniature scavenger hunt: what good pieces can I find for a great price? I don't know how y'all do goodwill, but when I buy things, I don't want it to look like I got it from a thrift shop. I want it to blend in seamlessly into my wardrobe, and when people ask where I got it, I can brag about how I fished it out of a rack in a secondhand store. Yea, I love a good bargain...what a rush!

We found some really awesome pieces in my opinion. I found some super cute patterned shorts from the gap (!), and a blue belt with gold buckle and an anchor. I also found a hideous Christmas sweatshirt...come on every year we go to those ugly sweater parties and it's a pain in the ass trying to find a sweater when everyone is already buying them, so I figured I'd be ahead of the game. Because it is really ugly! We picked up 3 candle holders for Halloween, they each have a different design on them: a witch, an owl, and a bat. We picked up a lovely vintage looking leaf shaped into a pretty deep bowl, green in color. And the best find of all: Justin found some still pretty new but gloriously broken in Sperrys!!! He looked them up online as soon as we got home and brand new they go for around $100 and my dear friends, we only paid $7! I KNOW!!!!!

After that we picked up needed food at walmart and grabbed some coffee at starbucks and we've been relaxing at home until Justin has to go to work. I hope you all enjoy your day!

Weekend!! TGIF!

Made it through the first week back to school. I've already situated my week around the nightly shows I watch, propelling me forward through each day and then parking my ass on the couch when I get home (after I work out, of course!).

That's right, I said working out. I've been playing Just Dance 3 again, I've done it five days in a row so far. I'm hoping to keep it up...that wedding dress won't fit if I don't do something!

Speaking of the wedding...I'm starting to get vvveeeerrrrryyyyyy excited! I put a countdown on my chalkboard in my classroom, saying "In ____ days, I'll be Mrs. K!" and I change the days accordingly. All the students are asking about details and the like, and I can't wait to get home to Justin everyday.  We are already living together, so I know it really won't be different after we are married, but I can't wait to be his wife!! November 23rd will be here before I know it...fall is my absolute favorite time of year. Thanksgiving and Christmas are my favorite holidays, and we are gettin' hitched days before Turkey Day! I CAN'T WAIT!

But for now I am biding my time, going to work, dancing, and living life until then. Then, it will be amazing, I. just. know. it.

ok lovelies, i'm going to take this pathetic little thing on the internet that i type on (rarely) called a "blog" in a whole new direction...forward. ha!

i realized, this blog is for me. why should i be driven to do this for someone else? so this is me now.
no weekly features.
no giveaways.
just me.
